Scholarship Opportunities at Our School

At Mestral School, we care about our community and want to ensure that the best students are rewarded for their academic achievements. We offer two kinds of scholarships based on academic excellence and outstanding results for students who have completed their ESO schooling — two for internal pupils and two more for external ones.

Excellence Scholarships for Internal Students

Excellence Scholarships for Internal Students

This excellence scholarship is meant for students who have been at Colegio Mestral and have completed their compulsory studies up to ESO or the first year of Baccalaureate. Two Internal Excellence Scholarships are attributed yearly, one for a student in the first year of the Baccalaureate and the other for one who is in the final year of school.

Scholarship Value
Students benefitting from this scholarship are exempt from paying the monthly school fees in the academic year the award applies to. Other school costs are not included, such as registration and enrolment renewal fees, books, uniforms, or school transport.

Selection Criteria
We only take academic criteria into account for the selection process.

To attribute a scholarship to students in the first year of the baccalaureate programme, the weighted average of their ESO studies will be considered. To offer an Excellence scholarship to students in the second year of the Baccalaureate, we consider the weighted average of all grades obtained during their first year of this course. In both cases, the weighted average must always be higher than a 9 grade. In the event of students having the same average, the scholarship will be distributed equally among all candidates in this situation.

In case of a significant decline in academic performance or disciplinary issues, the scholarship may be revoked at any time at the director's discretion.

Application Deadline
Interested families may submit the scholarship application until July 5th of the previous academic year.

Excellence & Social Scholarships for External Students

Excellence & Social Scholarships for External Students

The Social and Excellence Scholarship is meant for students who have completed their compulsory studies up to ESO in other schools. Academic and socio-economic criteria will be considered to grant this scholarship.

Two Social and Excellence Scholarships are attributed every year, one to a student in the first year of the Baccalaureate and the other to one who is about to start the second year of the course.

Scholarship Value
Students who receive this scholarship are exempt from paying the monthly school fees for the year it applies to. Please note that other school costs are not included in the scholarship award, such as registration and enrolment renewal fees, books, uniforms, or school transport services.

Selection Criteria
To attribute a Social & Excellence Scholarship in the first year of the baccalaureate course, 3 factors will be considered:
1. Weighted average of the student’s ESO school results.
2. Student’s socio-economic level, provided by families voluntarily through documents that demonstrate this situation, such as a Declaration of Income, proof of unemployment, and disability certificate, among others. An internal committee comprising of the school directors, head of studies, and a representative of the proprietors will assess the documentation provided.
3. A personal interview with the student and/or family and the internal school committee.

Application
After completing the 4th of ESO course at an external school, families who are applying for a scholarship must obtain a certificate from the corresponding centre that shows the student's average score in those studies. The deadline to submit this certificate, along with documents that certify the student's socio-economic level, is July 5th of the same year. The committee responsible for evaluation will communicate their decision to the candidates within one week.

Other Conditions
For the scholarship obtención or renewal in the second year of baccalaureate programme, the applicant must remain a student at  Mestral school and will compete to obtain the scholarship again with other Mestral students who also apply for it.

In case of a significant decline in academic performance or disciplinary issues, the scholarship may be removed at any time at the director's discretion. Families must accept and sign this condition to obtain the scholarship.
