Dual Diploma Option

If students choose to take the American Dual Diploma programme in addition to the Spanish curriculum starting from the 3rd year of ESO, they will pursue this international programme for the duration of their Baccalaureate course, unless they complete their final Dual Diploma elective in the first year of the Bachiller. In the Baccalaureate years, students will attend online classes in English, U.S. Government, Economics, and an elective subject, while pursuing their National Baccalaureate course at Mestral.

Languages in High School

English

College students have five hours of English lessons a week with native teachers, whose curriculum aims to prepare them for the Cambridge ESOL exams. Second-year high school students prepare for and take the Proficiency exam (level C2), which is the final and highest Cambridge ESOL level. In recent years, students who took this exam achieved a 100% pass rate.

German

Baccalaureate students have three hours of German lessons per week with native-speaking teachers in addition to conversational hours, following the official Goethe Institut curriculum and offering students the possibility of receiving certifications for the different levels they achieve through the Goethe Institut examinations at our school.

University & Careers Support for High School Students

At Colegio Mestral, we care about providing all the necessary information and support for your child’s future success in their university degrees and careers. Before starting the Baccalaureate programme, students receive individualised support from our guidance department in their final year of ESO, including personal interviews and tests to inform their decision on the specific Baccalaureate course pathway that best suits their interests, skills and university and career aspirations, ensuring that they select the most appropriate option for their profiles.

Second-year National Baccalaureate students receive continuous support in preparation for their PBAU exams and the university application process. At this point, they take another test focused on career choices to make the right decision when applying to university.

Baccalaureate students go on talks and presentations about different universities on campus, visit university fairs and take field trips to multiple institutions in Spain, so they can make informed decisions about their university course choice.
