Exciting Opportunities for Your Child's Growth Beyond the Classroom

To provide our students with the best enrichment programmes on a global scale, Colegio Mestral has partnered with Astex, a company specialising in foreign language programmes and international education. From a summer language programme in the UK to student exchanges in different schools around the world, to numerous volunteering opportunities, we aim to complement our students' education with unforgettable experiences.

UK Summer Programme

Together with Astex, Colegio Mestral offers students the chance to go on a memorable English language immersion summer programme in the United Kingdom.

This programme is meant for a small group of students and aims to enhance their English language proficiency within an immersive linguistic environment in a UK-based school. It can last from two to three weeks and students will be accompanied by a teacher from Mestral.

Summer Volunteering Opportunities

Community service and social responsibility are integral to Mestral's educational approach, as these develop important human values, enrich students' educational journey, and open up their perspective of the world.

Pupils in the final year of Secondary School and those in High School can participate in an enriching international volunteering programme, accompanied by a Mestral teacher to ensure they are comfortable throughout their stay.

Taking part in this programme provides students with numerous benefits for personal development while having the experience of a lifetime. They will have the chance to live with other international students in an English language immersion environment, understand and learn about different cultures, and become aware of different global and social issues.

Within this programme, students develop important leadership, problem-solving and teamwork skills and receive an official certificate for the work they have carried out. This experience will be highly regarded in their CVs when applying to top universities and ambitious jobs around the world, enhancing their chances of success.

Spending a Term or a Full Academic Year Abroad

Mestral students have the possibility of spending a school term or an entire academic year abroad in different schools around the world. This external exchange programme is available through Astex and also through Inspired Education, which offers its own Inspired Global Exchange from 5 weeks to a full academic year at 20 of its premium schools globally.

In both cases, the student’s year group tutor can provide individual support and follow-ups throughout their stay to ensure that they can seamlessly rejoin Mestral upon completing the programme with the necessary knowledge and tools to excel in the rest of the course or the following school year.

German Exchange Programme

Every year, our school's German department organises an exchange programme for our 3.º ESO learners (third year of Secondary School) with pupils in the Montessori Zentrum Angell in Freiburg, Germany. In May, the German visitors come to our school and enjoy the island for a week, staying with our students and their families. Then, at the end of June, our students go and visit them in Freiburg accompanied by a Colegio Mestral teacher.

This activity allows both German and Spanish students to fully immerse themselves in the home and cultural life of their host family. It is a truly enriching activity where language skills can be enhanced, and students can learn more about the customs and traditions of the other country.
